Fifteen. Finally! Some Content…I hope.
I was flipping through Gizmodo today, and I saw this post, and I must say, I’m very impressed with the dedication that Joao has for his passion/career. Honestly, to get your legs knackered by a Landmine, and to keep shooting takes some serious gut and bravery.
Anyways, I also saw a post today about Facebook’s new “@facebook.com” messaging service. In a nutshell it combines SMS, Email, and facebook messages all into one inbox. Zuckerberg hopes that in the future, things like Voip and other services will join into the party. Essentially, whenever you talk to someone, no matter how the communication, it all goes through to one “thread”. So it’s like Sony Ericsson’s Timescape idea, except on facebook…
The service also gets rid of all the BCC and CC’s in a message, essentially going for a more “instant” type of communication, much like a chat. It seems that the trend nowadays is that people are opting for more instant forms of communication, like text, and Zuckerberg hopes that the new @facebook service will allow for a one stop center to the complete history of conversation between you and a friend, no matter where the source is from.
Also, they offer this Social Inbox, which prioritizes all your messages from those who are within your friend circle and those who you’re not that close to.
This sounds kind of promising. and could be quite convenient to have everything in one inbox (including email of course). What are your thoughts?
