I have a SERIOUS love affair with the E38 BMW 740i. There’s just so much awesomeness to that car. I think I fell in love with it when I first saw a member on Carspin’s fully blacked out 740i. I’m talking flat black paint, with matching rims. From then on I’ve just falled in love with it….and now, I’m in the market for a new car, and it just so happens that the 2001 740i is well within my price range. I took a look, and I found myself this bad boy.
DAILY oil change? Never driven in winter!? with a brand new transmission!? God this is Perfect!
Oh, and btw, I say this is a love affair because it’s got a 4.4L V8 under the hood. It’s the M62B44, so it’s the same engine as the one used in the 8-series from BMW. Churned out 282 bhp, and 310 ft/lbs of twist. Which are ample figures for a car of this size, but with the current sky high gas prices…a freaking 4.4L V8 is just wallet suicide to own.
I’d love to own this machine, but there’s just no way I can keep up the gas.
